Public Speaking Coach in London for Founders and Executives
AI can write your pitch. It can’t walk into the room for you. Alexander Mercury coaches founders, executives and entrepreneurs in London and online to deliver with clarity, presence and calm – on stage, on the call and in the boardroom.
Who it’s for
This coaching is for people whose ideas are good but whose delivery doesn’t yet match them. Typically that means:
- Startup founders preparing to pitch, present or speak at events.
- C-suite executives who lead meetings, town halls and board presentations.
- Entrepreneurs who need to sell themselves and their business in person.
- Content creators who want to sound natural and confident on camera.
The problem it solves
Most leaders don’t struggle because they lack expertise. They struggle because high stakes, and the expectations we put on ourselves, can be paralysing. The voice goes flat, the message gets lost in detail, and the authority you have in the room quietly disappears when you stand up to speak.
Public speaking is a physical skill as much as an intellectual one. You can’t think your way into presence – you have to rehearse your way there. That is what this coaching is built around.
What happens in a session
Every engagement starts with a diagnostic: you speak, Alexander watches, and you both see exactly how you land on camera, on the call and in the room – and where you’re quietly losing credibility.
From there, sessions are practical. You work on breathing and body so you enter any room grounded and sounding certain. You build vocal range – pitch, pace, tone, melody and volume – so your delivery has colour and command. You learn communication frameworks that turn scattered thoughts into one sharp message, and storytelling structures that make ideas land in the gut, not just the head.
Then you rehearse. We run mock scenarios that mirror your real situation, so you learn to deliver, breathe and enjoy yourself in the moment instead of getting cold feet.
The approach
Alexander is a working actor who has coached business communication for over a decade. His approach leans on kinaesthetic learning, not showmanship: clarity of thought under pressure and presence without performance. You won’t be taught to act like someone else – you’ll learn to sound like the most convincing version of yourself.
Why practice beats theory
Reading about confident delivery doesn’t change how you sound when your heart rate goes up. The only reliable way to perform well under pressure is to have already done it – many times, in conditions close to the real thing. That is why every session is built around doing: you speak, you get feedback, you try again, and you notice the difference straight away.
This kinaesthetic approach means the skills live in your body, not just your notes. When the moment comes, you don’t have to remember a list of tips. Your breathing, your voice and your structure are already there, so you can pay attention to the people in front of you instead of to your own nerves.
It also means progress is visible. Recording yourself before and after shows you what has changed, which builds the kind of confidence that lasts beyond a single event.
What you leave with
- A pre-speech ritual that settles your breath and body.
- A voice with range, colour and command.
- A clear structure for any talk or presentation.
- Stories that make your ideas memorable.
- The experience of having already rehearsed the real thing.
How it works – online and in London
Sessions run live on Zoom, so you can work with Alexander from anywhere, or in person in London when you want to rehearse in a real room. The work is the same either way: short explanations, lots of doing, and honest feedback straight away.
If you prefer to start on your own, the course gives you 7 modules and 21 short video classes you can work through at your own pace, with the option of personal video feedback on top.
Ready when you are
Tell Alexander what’s coming up – a keynote, a pitch, a board meeting – and he’ll suggest the right starting point. Or begin with the course and add personal feedback.
