Investor pitch

Investor Pitch Coaching for Startup Founders

An investor pitch? We’ll make the story as clear as the numbers, and prepare you for the questions you’re dreading. Alexander Mercury coaches founders to pitch with clarity and conviction – in London and online.

    Who it’s for

    • Founders preparing for a fundraising round, demo day or accelerator pitch.
    • Co-founder teams who need to present as one clear voice.
    • Entrepreneurs pitching to partners, clients or a board.

    The problem it solves

AI can write your pitch. It can’t walk into the room for you. Investors hear a lot of decks, and the content alone rarely decides the outcome. What they remember is whether the founder was clear, credible and believable under questioning.

Many founders know their business inside out but deliver it in a rush of detail. Others freeze when the questions start. Pitch coaching works on both: the structure of the story and the delivery of it.

    What happens in a session

You start by pitching as you would today. The diagnostic shows where the message is getting lost and where your delivery undermines your authority. Then we rebuild it:

    • Communication frameworks to turn scattered points into one sharp message investors can repeat.
    • Storytelling frameworks and a repeatable storytelling formula to move investors to yes.
    • Vocal work – pace, pause, tone and volume – so the key moments land.
    • Breathing and body work so you stay grounded when the pressure rises.
    • Mock Q&A that stress-tests the pitch until every investor question feels familiar.

    Rehearsal is the method

For you, that means stress-testing the pitch until every investor question feels familiar. The work is built through doing, not theory. Each run gets immediate feedback, and you leave with a pitch you can deliver confidently in a room or on a video call.

    Why practice beats theory

Reading about confident delivery doesn’t change how you sound when your heart rate goes up. The only reliable way to perform well under pressure is to have already done it – many times, in conditions close to the real thing. That is why every session is built around doing: you speak, you get feedback, you try again, and you notice the difference straight away.

This kinaesthetic approach means the skills live in your body, not just your notes. When the moment comes, you don’t have to remember a list of tips. Your breathing, your voice and your structure are already there, so you can pay attention to the people in front of you instead of to your own nerves.

It also means progress is visible. Recording yourself before and after shows you what has changed, which builds the kind of confidence that lasts beyond a single event.

    What you leave with

    • A pitch story that is as clear as your numbers.
    • Answers to the hardest investor questions, already rehearsed.
    • A delivery that sounds certain, not scripted.
    • A pre-pitch ritual to stay grounded in the room or on the call.
